Charles P. Huebner

Managing Member 



Chuck is a Managing Member and co-founder of Pointe Capital Management. Chuck is responsible for serving existing clients, working with prospective clients as well as portfolio construction and security selection.

Chuck received his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 1974, and joined Goldman, Sachs & Co New York and moved to Goldman Detroit in 1975. In 1990, he joined Kidder, Peabody & Co, and worked for both Paine Webber and UBS AG through a series of acquisitions beginning in 1995. At each Firm, he was an Institutional research, trading and sales specialist providing both equity and fixed income investing services to institutional investors, ultra high net worth individuals, corporations and hedge funds. In addition, he sourced various capital raising activities including an Initial Public Offering, a private placement, two hospital financings, a hotel refinancing, a public pension fund restructuring and a leveraged buy-out. During his 35 year career on Wall Street, Chuck developed a deep and thorough understanding of U.S. and Global capital markets and served a diverse group of professional and institutional investors for trading execution, economic research, equity research, fixed income research, portfolio structuring and strategy. He has personally handled over $2b of trades every year or approximately $60b in total market value over his career.  Chuck served as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1995, retiring with the rank of Commander.  

In addition to an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Chuck holds a B.S. from Michigan State University.

Paul J. Huebner 

Managing Member 



Paul is a Managing Member and co-founder of Pointe Capital Management. Paul’s responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection, trading, and Firm compliance.

Prior to founding Pointe Capital, Paul worked at UBS Financial Services where he served both institutional and individual clients. Paul’s practice included servicing institutional money manager clients with best execution trading on both equity and new issue municipal bonds. He also developed a robust individual and high net worth business that focused on custom portfolio allocations for successful business owners. Prior to UBS, he worked at Morgan Stanley in New York City where he performed performance attribution analysis and portfolio maintenance functions for its three largest internal managers.

Paul has a B.S. from Colgate University.

Paul Huebner

Jeffrey C. Huebner, CFA 

Managing Member 



Jeff is a Managing Member of Pointe Capital Management. Jeff is responsible for serving current clients and building the Firm’s practice in addition to developing best practices for portfolio construction and security selection.

Prior to joining the Pointe Capital team, Jeff spent eight years at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in New York including four years as Executive Director building and leading a team which served the Firm’s most senior executives. In addition, Jeff also worked as an Alternative Investment Product Specialist for Morgan Stanley and helped raise $2.5 billion for these funds over four years. Earlier in his career, Jeff was a Vice President at JPMorgan Private Bank where he was accountable to a $6 billion portfolio of client relationships.

Jeff has an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Economics with a Minor in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. Jeff is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Jeff Huebner

Jessica M. Willis, CPWA, CFP 




As a Director of Pointe Capital Management, Jessica is responsible for serving existing clients, developing new business and practice growth, marketing matters and Firm communications.

Prior to joining Pointe Capital, Jessica spent nine years with Plante Moran Financial Advisors serving individuals, families, estates and trusts where she assisted clients with asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment manager selection, income taxation planning and multi-generational strategic estate planning. At Plante Moran, Jessica served 60 clients with combined assets under management of $635 million and was heavily involved in firm development by participating on a variety of committees, presenting frequently at firm training sessions and contributing to the Women’s in Leadership initiative. Earlier in her career, Jessica was a Research Associate for MacGregor Associates, an institutional real estate investment consultant in Chicago where she conducted and compiled real estate market research for corporations, pension funds, Taft-Hartley plans and other institutional investor clients.

Jessica has an MBA from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago where she was on the Dean’s list, as well as an active member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society and where she co-founded the Loyola Shares philanthropic organization serving Chicago’s at risk community.  Jessica has a B.S. from the University of Michigan.  Jessica is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Jessica Willis

Daniel B. Willard, CFA 

Executive Director



Dan is an Executive Director of Pointe Capital Management and is responsible for security research and selection, portfolio management and trading process, while also working with new and prospective clients. Dan is involved with growing the Firm’s institutional practice.

Before joining the team, Dan was an Equity Research Analyst with T. Rowe Price where he was responsible for over $500 million in investments. As an equity analyst with both T. Rowe Price and Piper Jaffray earlier in his career, Dan focused on a range of industries from consumer, leisure and entertainment to industrial and technology. He also has Investor Relations and Investment Banking experience with Perrigo and Deloitte & Touche, respectively. 

Dan has an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Finance with Honors from Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Daniel Willard

James L. Carroll, CFA 

Managing Director



Jim is Managing Director of Pointe Capital Management and is responsible for portfolio management, security selection, serving clients and developing Pointe Capital Management’s institutional practice. Jim co-manages and runs the PCM All-Cap Equity Strategy.

Prior to joining the team, Jim spent 17 years with Loomis Sayles as a Vice President and Equity Portfolio Manager where he co-managed the $6 billion large-cap value strategy. This fund achieved first quartile performance versus its peer group for the one, three, five and ten year periods. Mr. Carroll also managed a long only energy fund and was a co-manager of the Loomis Sayles Energy Hedge Fund. Both of these energy centric funds achieved well above benchmark returns when Jim was the active manager. In addition, he spent 15 years with Paine Webber / Rotan Mosle as a Managing Director and Senior Energy Research Team Leader and Analyst. Most notably, Jim was selected as an Institutional Investor All-American team member from 1984-1996, and Ranked #1 Energy Service Analyst in the U.S. from 1986-1996. Jim has been widely quoted on a variety of energy related securities and topics in numerous national publications, including the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. Earlier in his career, Jim spent five years with National Bank of Detroit as an Assistant Vice President and Equity Portfolio Manager. 

Jim has an MBA from Wayne State University with a concentration in Corporate Finance and a B.S. from Wayne State University with a concentration in Economics. Jim has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1976.

Elizabeth S. Ottaway, CFP

Executive Director


Liz is an Executive Director of Pointe Capital Management. Liz is responsible for serving existing clients, developing new client relationships and consulting on the Firm’s strategies under management.

Prior to joining the Pointe Capital Management team, Liz spent twenty-one years at Munder Capital Management as a Senior Investment Manager. While at Munder, Liz served over 140 accounts with assets of $1.6 billion, including domestic and international corporations, insurance companies, hospitals, endowment, foundation, and high net-worth clients. Liz provided guidance on investment policies, portfolio asset allocation and portfolio holdings. Earlier in her career, Liz was an Assistant Vice-President and Trust Officer for Comerica Bank in Detroit where she coordinated client relationships and administration for 100 endowment and foundation accounts and managed investment portfolios for 25 common trust fund accounts. Liz began her career at The Vanguard Group serving institutional clients including employee retirement plans.

Considering her broad investment background, Liz volunteers as the Chair of the Investment Committees for a variety of charitable organizations including the St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center, the Young Woman’s Home Association and the Tau Beta Association.

Liz received her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the College of Financial Planning, Denver as well as a B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary.

Susan M. Doughty 

Director of Administration



Susan is the Director of Administration for the Pointe Capital Management team. Susan works closely with prospective and existing clients with their daily financial needs and she supports the PCM team members in all capacities.

Prior to joining the founding members at Pointe Capital Management, Susan served as a Sales Assistant at UBS Financial Services where she provided operational and administrative support to a team of financial advisors. Additionally, Susan worked closely with prospective and current clients with onboarding, daily cash flow activity, preparation of client reports and restricted security transactions. Over the fifteen years at UBS, Susan served 80-100 clients with approximately $450 million under management. Prior to UBS, Susan worked at Coopers and Lybrand in the Defined Contribution practice where she assisted with pension administration for the 401(k) plan and was responsible for asset reconciliation and other accounting functions. Earlier in her career, Susan worked for Olympia Entertainment and the Brookline Corporation serving prominent families and local corporations in a client serving manner.
